Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine from a straight line to one side. In those who have the condition, when viewed from the front of back, the spine bends either to the left or to the right, and can occur at any point of the spin from the top to bottom. This problem is more common in women than men. Studies showed that symptoms and indication of scoliosis usually show up in childhood. Four out of 1000 children in UK have scoliosis problem. The condition of scoliosis becomes worse and worse over time. So, early detection is very important and critical to prevent worsening scoliosis conditions. The curvature can be varying from slight to severe. The cause of scoliosis is unknown, because of this scientists call it an idiopathic disease. In some cases other disease of spine like Osteoporosis can lead to Scoliosis. Osteoporosis usually occurs in older people when the bones become soften. This disease can cause so many problem and difficulties such as back pain and breathing difficulties. Nowadays, chiropractic care is a valid solution which can improve this condition. The chiropractors must assess the patient`s health history, and examine the spine condition. The Adam`s Forward bending test is a common exam to find out if chiropractic care is a suitable method of correction for the particular patient. Journal of Chiropractic reported outcomes of a study case on 28 scoliosis adults’ patients receiving chiropractic treatment in 2011 (Sep). The outcome showed improvements in back pain, Cobb angle and disability after treatment. A regular visit with chiropractor is necessary to observe progression of scoliosis. Also, Professionals can suggest other physical therapy to increase muscle strength and gain mobility.
