Dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is usually made of titanium, and placed into jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implant is a choice for people who have lost teeth due to injury or periodontal disease. The overall dental health status has enhanced with the modern dental health care. Usually teeth are being preserved rather than removed, but they may be congenitally missing or lost due to many reasons such as, gross caries, advanced periodontal (gum) disease, traumatic injuries or excision of a tumor. The great advantage of dental implants is that the adjacent teeth are not cut down easily and the preservation of the tooth is fully edentulous situations, has the advantage of aesthetic appearance, firm and comfortable to chew on, yet easy to preserve.
